This site is about living a victorious lifestyle according to Christian principles. It is not based on, or promoting any specific denomination or group. It is also not about what I (or anybody else) is doing for God, but what God has done (and still is doing) in this world (John 10:10). This doesn’t mean that projects to feed the poor or otherwise will never be mentioned, but that is not the focus of this site.
Posts and discussions will be on topics which are relevant in our day-to-day living, and world conditions we all have to deal with, based on Christian principles as found in The Bible. Various books, authors, preachers, etc. will be mentioned where applicable though.
Hi, my name is Jaco and I have searched for truth since a very young age. I have studied the Word and many questions started “popping up”! What I would experience in life (and sometimes even at church) and what I read in The Bible, sometimes didn’t add up or didn’t make sense to me. When asking questions, I was told on more than one occasion to “not always take things so literally”. This was confusing to me, as I believe that if I cannot take The Bible (The Word of God) literally, then what is the sense in believing anything? Do we really just have to except that whatever will be will be….? Can I really stand on God’s promise for healing (1 Peter 2:24; James 5:14-15) or must I accept that “I cannot take it literally, because in my case the doctor said…..” ? Can I really believe God will supply all my needs (Philippians 4:19), while my bank account is empty? Where is the power in that (Acts 1:8)?
I started enrolling into various Bible study courses and reading books from different authors. This also had a confusing effect, as I got exposed to different opinions and teachings, and the time came for me to realize that it is good to find a true church where you can fellowship with other Christians. It is also good (and I believe our responsibility) to hear what other preachers are saying, but the most important fact though, is to test whatever you hear against THE WORD (1 Thessalonians 5:21)! Whether at church, listening to a sermon on television, reading a book, or wherever you hear or find any statement or information, test it against The Word!
We are often exposed to advertisements promoting various positive thinking programmes, and don’t get me wrong, I don’t see anything wrong with positive thinking. Positive thinking is good, but what are we believing? What do we put our faith in? How can we feed the poor if we don’t have anything to give? How can we be witnesses, if we do not live in victory ourselves?
It is time to take a stand, and it is my intention to post regularly on breakthroughs and victories in life (including my own).
